Inter-Disciplinary Research Centre to Open at Hindu College Today

The Relaxo Research Centre at Hindu College aims to promote scientific research by providing designated laboratories in Chemistry, Fragrances, Life Sciences, Gender Studies, and History, such as the Synthesis Lab for Life Sciences, Cell Culture Research Lab, Polymer Research Lab, and Design and Innovation Lab.
Today, November 3, the Hindu College of the University of Delhi will open its interdisciplinary research centre, the Relaxo Research Centre. According to a college statement, the Relaxo Research Centre at Hindu College seeks to promote research through designated laboratories in Chemistry, Fragrances, Life Sciences, Gender Studies, and History, such as the Synthesis Lab for Life Sciences, Cell Culture Research Lab, Polymer Research Lab, Design and Innovation Lab, and others.
The Relaxo Research Centre will be inaugurated today at 11 a.m. on the Hindu College campus. Yogesh Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delhi, will attend the inaugural ceremony. The special guests of honour for the inauguration ceremony are Ramesh Kumar Dua, Managing Director of Relaxo Footwears Ltd, and PK Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC).
In accordance with the National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020, Hindu College has established a 38,000-square-foot research centre. The Relaxo Research Centre has labs for Science, Social Science, and Languages, as well as adjunct faculty housing and a 250-seat auditorium.
DU recently announced
the formation of cluster colleges that will function as knowledge networks. The university announced the establishment of cluster colleges, stating that colleges at DU will be grouped into five different cluster colleges based on their geographical locations, with each cluster college operating as a Knowledge Network. The college highlighted within a cluster, according to DU, will be designated as the nodal or hub college, acting as the nodal point for coordination with the university as well as the colleges within the said cluster to ensure the smooth implementation of the NEP.
