IIT Roorkee’s Research Awards 2022; Here’s the complete list of Winners;

Kanishka Biswas, DP Kanungo, Deepankar Choudhury, Satish Chandra, and KK Pant are the five awardees in various categories for the 2022 IIT Roorkee Research Awards.

Today, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee released the names of the professors who took home Research Awards. Each year, the institute honours the contributions of scholars in several subjects by giving out Research Awards.

The IIT Roorkee Research Awards 2022 are accessible to all citizens of India and have been offered ever since the institution’s founding. In 1847, it was founded as College Civil Engineering, Roorkee. In 1949, it was established as a university, and in 2001, it became an IIT.

The Khosla National Award (Sciences) has been given to Kanishka Biswas, a professor in the brand-new chemistry department at Bangalore’s Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research. He works in the fields of clean environment and renewable energy. In the past ten years, Kanishka Biswas has made noteworthy and novel contributions to the fields of thermoelectric and solid-state inorganic chemistry.

Professor RP Saini of IIT Roorkee’s department of hydro and renewable energy received the HRED Hydro and Renewable Energy Award from the institute. Hydropower, solar energy, and integrated renewable energy sources are the subjects of his extensive and creative study.

The laureate of the AS Arya Disaster Prevention Award is DP Kanungo, who serves as the group head and chief scientist of the CSIR-CBRI, Roorkee’s Geo-Hazard Risk Reduction Group.

Deepankar Choudhury of IIT Bombay earned the Gopal Ranjan Technology Award. The sole elected fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), Choudhury is a geotechnical engineer.

The SR Mehra Memorial Award was given to Satish Chandra, a professor in the IIT Roorkee’s department of civil engineering, for his contributions to the characterization of bituminous materials and highway capacity.

IIT Roorkee director KK Pant congratulated the winners and said: “Many excellent institutions and researchers have been recognised with these prizes for their scientific brilliance. Awards like these are an excellent way to acknowledge outstanding research in India. Impactful research advances knowledge, which helps the nation and the world.

Additionaly, Each year, the institute honours the contributions of scholars in several subjects by giving out Research Awards. According to a news release issued by IIT Roorkee, these awards, which were established when the IIT-Roorkee was founded, are available to all citizens and recipients come from various educational institutions throughout the world.
