IIT Madras: Admission window opens for IIT Zanzibar campus; last to apply by August 5
Applications are being accepted for the courses for the recently established offshore campus in Zanzibar; run by the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. The deadline for IIT’s international campus admission applications is August 5.
There will be two programmes available at the IIT Zanzibar campus: a two-year MTech course and a BSc programme in data science and artificial intelligence (AI).
Students who are qualified and interested in applying may do so at zanzibar.iitm.ac.in. Students from all nationalities are welcome to enrol in IIT Zanzibar’s programmes.
The BSc curriculum will have a total of 70 places, and the academic year will start on October 24. Preeti Aghalayam, an alumna of IIT Madras, has been named the director-in-charge of IIT Zanzibar.
Candidates must pay 12,000 USD annually for undergraduate programmes and 4,000 USD annually for graduate studies, without including hostel costs, under the price structure.
In addition to academic opportunities, students will have access to study abroad and semester exchange programmes with partner universities in the UK, Australia, and other nations through IITM; internships with pertinent businesses; and the chance to fulfil some course requirements at the IIT Madras campus in Chennai, India.
IIT Zanzibar Campus: Eligibility Criteria
- Any student who has completed class 12 or its equivalent is eligible to apply, regardless of age or academic standing.
- Applicants must have taken their Class 11 final examinations and may apply regardless of group, stream, or board.
- After passing Class 12, pupils may enrol in the programme if they are qualified.
- Students that earned a B.Sc. degree can apply.
- The aspirants should have mastered English and mathematics in class 10.
