IIT Gandhinagar will be Hosting the First AIESC Meeting

Australia India Education and Skill Council (AIESC) inaugural meeting will be held at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar. This is for the first time that education and skilling are being brought under the same institutional forum. The AIESC meeting scheduled to take place on November 6, 2023, is a two-day program where Australia and India will collaborate in the research and training field. This meeting will create a roadmap of synergy and collaboration between the education and skills areas.
It was before known as AIEC (Australian India Education Council), AIESC was established in the year 2011. This would work as a bilateral entity to promote educational, training, and research collaborations between Australia and India.
The meeting will be co-chaired by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Mr. Jason Clare MP, and Hon’ble Mr. Brendan O’Connor. The governments of India and Australia would work in this as partners.
Collaboration Between Education and Skill Domains
This is the first time ever that education and skilling are being brought under the same institutional forum. The goal of this forum was to align the national priorities of both countries. To bring focus on the promotion of internationalization. The two-way mobility and collaboration in the domains of education, as well as the skill ecosystem, are also the main subjects.
This interaction would create innovative opportunities and deepen bilateral research collaborations. This would create a research ecosystem through industry partnerships, research workforce, and strategies.
AIESC Meeting
The meetings will be attended by the heads of Higher Education Institutions and skill sectors from both countries. The ministers will be visiting different universities which are centres for creative learning. Pandit Deen Dayal University and Vidya Samiksha Kendra are also on the list. The two-day program will also include a visit to Deakin University. Along with that University of Wollongong campuses, and Arambh: Australian University campuses in India is on the list too.
The key topic of the second-day interaction is ‘Research Dialogue: New Horizon in Research Collaboration’. This would explore the different ways to enrich research collaboration between both nations. This would establish a thriving research ecosystem that would benefit both countries.
The meeting would create a platform for academic and skill experts to discuss a wide range of mutually beneficial topics. This will ultimately shape the future of education and skills in both our nations.
