IIT Dhanbad Opens Admission for Ph.D. Programme; Apply by Oct 30, Important Guidelines & More are Here!

The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) [IIT (ISM)], Dhanbad, is now accepting applications for its PhD programmes. By October 30, 2023, applications for the course must be submitted.

All applicants seeking admission to the full-time, funded, or IA PhD programme at the university must submit their online applications through the IIT (ISM) Dhanbad admissions portal at https://www.iitism.ac.in/index.php/Admission.

Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. at IIT Dhanbad

Essential Requirements for an Engineering Doctorate

• A candidate must possess a Master’s degree in engineering in the pertinent field with a first class/division, minimum 60% overall, or a CGPA of 6.0 (on a scale of 10).
• According to Table 6, a candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 70% marks or a CGPA of 7.0 (on a scale of 10) OR.
• A first-class or division Master’s degree in science or a closely related field, or at least 60% of the required marks/a CGPA of 6.0 (on a 10-point scale), is required of applicants.

Essential Criteria for Ph.D. in Management 

• A candidate must possess a Master’s degree in management or a related field, or an equivalent degree in engineering or technology, with first class standing, a division, or at least 60% overall with a CGPA of 6.0 (on a 10-point scale), OR
• A candidate having a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 70% overall grade point average, OR
• A first-class or division Master’s degree in science, the arts, or business, or 60 percent of the total possible points on a 10-point scale, are requirements for applicants.
• a candidate who has earned a first-class or division in their undergraduate degree, at least 60% of the required marks, or a CGPA of 6.0 (on a 10-point scale).

Essential Criteria for Ph.D. in Science

• A candidate must possess a Master’s degree in the pertinent field with a first class or division, or must have at least 60% of the required marks or a CGPA of 6.0 (on a 10-point scale).
• According to Table 6, a candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 70% marks or a CGPA of 7.0 (on a scale of 0 to 10). OR
• A first-class or division Master’s degree in science or a closely related field, or at least 60% of the required marks/a CGPA of 6.0 (on a 10-point scale), is required of applicants.

Ph.D. in Humanities and Social Sciences: Eligibility  Requirements

• A master’s degree in the pertinent field—Arts, Commerce, Humanities, and Social Sciences—with first class or division, or at least 60% of the required marks or a CGPA of 6.0 (on a 10-point scale), OR
• According to Table 6, a candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 70% marks or a CGPA of 7.0 (on a scale of 0 to 10). OR
• A master’s degree in engineering, technology, science, commerce, or management is required, as well as at least 60% of the required marks or a CGPA of 6.0 (on a 10-point scale).

• You will receive an email on the registered email address you provided for verification when your registration is complete. Please double-check your email.
• Log in to the application portal using your Registration Number.
• Pay close attention to the directions.
• Utilise the “Apply” option to begin your application.
• Include every detail. Fields with an asterisk (*) next to them are required fields.If you are unable to give the necessary data, you may write “NA”. Please have all of your credentials, including grade reports, degree certificates, category certifications, etc., available in pdf format. Before the submission is complete, they must be uploaded.
• After submitting your application, save a PDF copy of it. It will be necessary throughout the admissions procedure.
