According to the IIM Bangalore: 

“Professor Deepak Malghan who is faculty of the Public Policy area of IIM Bangalore has received the TN Khoshoo Memorial Award from the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE)”. 

There is very good news as Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) has awarded one of the faculty member Professor Deepak Malghan of IIM Banglore the TN Khoshoo Memorial Award. 

What is the value of TN Khoshoo Memorial Award in India? 

The T N Khoshoo Memorial Award and Lecture was instituted in 2004 to honour the legacy of the world-renowned environmental scientist, Dr Triloki Nath Khoshoo. 

The Khoshoo family and ATREE started this award to honour Dr Khoshoo’s legacy. Through this T N Khoshoo Endowment Fund the main motive of presenting the award each year is to encourage and promote individuals for outstanding achievements in the field of conservation and sustainable development.

In 1982, Dr Khoshoo was the first Secretary of the Indian Government’s newly created Department of Environment who played a significant role in the development of India’s environmental policy. Even Dr Khoshoo was one of the early trustees of ATREE. Of we talk about the worth of the award then it consists of a cash prize of Rs 100,000.
