What is FMGE?
The FMGE, or Foreign Medical Graduate test, is a licensing test administered by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). An Indian citizen or OCI who has completed their primary medical qualification from a non-Indian institution but intends to practise in India must pass this examination in order to register with the National Medical Commission (NMC)/State Medical Council (SMC).
However, because FMGE was launched in 2002, candidates who completed their main degree course on or before March 15, 2002, are exempt from taking this examination.
It should also be noted that the FMGE is not an entrance exam and cannot be used to gain admission to any institute. It is a certification exam for foreign medical graduates. The examination is administered twice a year, in December and June. If a student is unable to pass the FMGE exam in December, he or she may retake it in June.
The FMGE 2023: Selection Process
FMGE 2023, as previously said, is a licensing test. Qualifying for the exam does not imply that the individual is eligible for admission to any educational institution. Candidates who pass the FMGE 2023 will be allowed to register with the Medical Council of India (MCI) and operate as registered medical practitioners in India.
The FMGE 2023 Selection Process includes processes such as application, admission card, exam, result, and issuing of pass certificates. Let’s go through each step in detail.
