DU UG Admission 2023: 87% of seats were filled in round 1; Hansraj, Ramjas, and Dyal Singh colleges are most preferred by students

The top five degrees chosen by most students this year are BCom (Hons), BCom, BA (Hons) Political Science, BA (Hons) Economics, and BA (Hons) English, according to data given by the institution. With the highest enrollments at Hansraj College, Ramjas College, and Dyal Singh College, almost 87% of undergraduate seats in Delhi University colleges were filled in the first round of admission.
In this year’s first round of admission, 62,008 applicants—of whom 53% are women—have so far paid tuition and confirmed their acceptance to DU campuses. 40,701 students chose an upgrade, while 12,733 chose to freeze their entrance.
Under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS)-UG-2023, seats are being distributed for undergraduate programmes.
According to data collected up to 6 pm on Monday, a total of 85,853 applicants were given seats in undergraduate programmes at Delhi University (DU) colleges in the first round of admission.
Across all of its colleges, DU offers 71,000 UG seats. In the previous year, 61,500 seats were only filled after the second round of UG admission.
Only a few seats remain open in the colleges on North Campus, according to the university. All of the programmes of Kirorimal College’s arts and commerce departments have one or two open seats, while all other programmes are full.
Both the BSc (Hons) Mathematics and BSc (Hons) Botany programmes have open seats. Similar to this, the majority of the seats in Miranda House were filled during the first round. However, there are still a few spots left in several science classes.
According to the report, Dyal Singh College, Hansraj College, Gargi College, Ramjas College, and Kirorimal College were the top five colleges with the most admissions.
The majority of job openings in Sanskrit and science courses, such as Chemistry, Physics, and Electronics, are located off-campus and at a few colleges on the South Campus.
There are 14 places available for Botany BSc (Hons), 31 seats for computer science, 32 seats for electronics, 27 seats for mathematics, and 33 seats for physics at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College. In addition, there are 17 and 12 unfilled spots in the BSc (Hons) Life Sciences and Zoology programmes, respectively.
According to information gathered up to Monday evening at 6 p.m., 85,853 applicants were given seats in undergraduate programmes at Delhi University (DU) colleges. In all of DU’s colleges, there are 71,000 UG seats available.
Only at the conclusion of the second round of UG admission last year were 61,500 seats filled.
