Droupadi Murmu appeals to Atut Bandhan family’s medical students to assist other underprivileged students

On Tuesday, President Droupadi Murmu urged the medical students of the Atut Bandhan family to assist other underprivileged students while advancing in their careers and personal lives.
Murmu attended a gathering of the Atut Bandhan Family in the Raj Bhavan after receiving a hearty welcome at the Biju Patnaik International Airport.
The Atut Bandhan family is a nonprofit organisation that offers financial aid to medical students who need help paying for basic necessities. At least 52 medical students from low-income homes have received sponsorship through the Atut Bandhan family.
Without showing any interest, the president mingled with both the sponsors and the kids who would benefit.
At an event organised at the Raj Bhavan in this city, Murmu addressed the audience and made the suggestion that those who had received Atut Bandhan benefits assist other students in advancing in their careers and personal lives.
The president said, “If you help other poor students, it will start a chain reaction, and many outstanding students who were shut out of possibilities will benefit. At the airport, where traditional musicians were also performing, Murmu was earlier welcomed by Governor of Odisha Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, and other officials.
At the airport and throughout the route she took to get to Raj Bhavan, folk musicians played. The governor planned a party to celebrate Murmu’s one year in the top position in the nation when she arrived at the Raj Bhavan.
On July 25, 2022, she had taken the oath of office.
The president cut a special cake with an image of the Rastapati Bhavan, according to a senior official present. In the presence of the governor and the chief minister, Murmu also set the cornerstone for the Kalinga Atithi Nivas on the grounds of Raj Bhavan.
As planned, the president will travel to Cuttack on Wednesday. While there, she will visit the ‘Utkal Gourab’ Madhusudan Das’ home and pay floral tribute to his monument. She will also offer prayers at the Chandi Temple. She will also go to the Netaji Museum and the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Birthplace.
On Wednesday, Murmu is expected to speak at the SCB Medical College and Hospital’s annual meeting and attend the valedictory ceremony for the Orissa High Court’s 75th anniversary festivities in Cuttack.
On the same day, she would also be a part of the National Law University of Odisha’s convocation. The president will interact with members of particularly vulnerable tribal communities at the Raj Bhavan on Thursday before travelling back to Delhi.
She will also lay the cornerstone for the lighthouse complex at Dasabatia, Bhubaneswar’s Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, whose theme for 2023 is “The Year of Positive Change.”
Extensive security precautions have been taken in the twin cities for the visit, according to Bhubaneswar DCP Pratik Singh. Murmu has travelled to Odisha three times since taking office as the nation’s highest official on July 25, 2022.
