CLAT 2024: Gandhinagar National Law University introduces a reservation category; Registration is underway


For the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2024), the Consortium of National Law Universities has announced the addition of a reservation category at Gandhinagar National Law University, Silvassa.
The CLAT 2024 registration procedure for admission to the 22 NLUs and other participating universities is now under progress. Candidates must submit the CLAT 2024 application form online at consortiumofnlus.ac.in, the official website.
For students that chose Gandhinagar National Law University, Silvassa, the consortium has also released step-by-step guidelines for updating the reservation category. The new GNLU information pamphlet is available on the university’s official website, and it also urged applicants to check there.
The following list includes the steps for updating the reservation category.
- Register as a candidate for CLAT 2024.
- Go to the ‘Edit Application’ button and click it.
- Silvassa, select the ‘Reservation’ tab from the list of tabs.
- Answer “Yes” to the question “Are you a domicile of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu?” and then choose the reservation category you want to use from the drop-down list that appears.
- To save your changes, click the ‘Submit’ button.
The petition filed to hold CLAT in languages other than English is supported, the Bar Council of India (BCI) recently informed the Delhi High Court. More aspirants will have opportunities, according to the statement.
The CLAT 2024 exam will take place on December 3 in accordance with the timetable. The consortium made a few revisions to the CLAT UG 2024 in June. The undergraduate legal entrance exam now only contains 120 questions.
According to the most recent revisions, “A ‘Domicile Reservation’ category has been added for the UG and PG programmes. Candidates may be taken into consideration for this reservation category if they are residents of the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (DNH & DD).
The CLAT Portal allows eligible candidates to update their information.
