Candidates may submit their documents between November 3 at 5 p.m. and November 5 at 10 a.m. Emails submitted before or after the deadline will be ignored. The decision was made in response to a Supreme Court judgment, and no students with inferior merit would be admitted to the NRI quota.
Medical Counseling Committee also known as MCC has issued a statement indicating that all students who seek to register themselves under the NRI category must do so and provide documentation to substantiate their claims of NRI status. Such candidates must email the necessary documentation to ug.nri.mcc@gmail.com.

The Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) filed a writ petition in response to several examples of Indian citizens seeking admission under the NRI quota.
Because NRI quota costs are often greater than those for other students, Indian students who could afford the fees took admission to NRI quota seats despite receiving a lesser score.
The court judgment states that “not more than 15% of the seats must be allocated for NRIs at the discretion of the management subject to two criteria.” First and foremost, such seats should be legitimately used by NRIs solely for their children or wards. Second, within this quota, merit should not be completely ignored.”
