BTech in climate change: Anant School is first to offer a BTech specialization in climate change; INVITES application
Applications are being accepted for a BTech curriculum with a focus on climate change at the Anant School for Climate Action in Ahmedabad. The official website, anu.edu.in, is where qualified applicants can register. Candidates have until July 31, 2023, to register for the third round. Students having a Gujarati address may also apply via the ACPC website for the second round.
The BTech climate change course accepts high school graduates who are proficient in at least three of the following subjects: computer sciences, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology. There are no age limitations for applicants, and the institution welcomes students from all Indian and international high school boards.
India’s first specialized engineering program centered on climate technology and environmental innovation is the BTech climate change.
Students will be equipped to create cutting-edge technological solutions to alleviate and adapt to climate change concerns thanks to the four-year, full-time BTech degree.
At the climate lab, students will be able to actively participate in real-world business climate projects, gaining practical experience in addition to academic knowledge.
The program’s curriculum includes eight tracks related to climate technologies. Students will have the opportunity to choose specialized studies during the last two semesters based on their preferences.
The last semester will require an industry experience for BTech students studying climate change. Students will be placed in the climate economy under the direction of knowledgeable professionals in the field and academic mentors, where they can put their education to use in practical situations.
The Villars Institute in Switzerland and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States are partners with the institute. Additionally, the institution has partnered strategically with groups working to combat climate change, such as Initiatives of Change (IofC) in the UK, The Commonwealth Secretariat in London, and Sustain Labs in Paris.
Recent internships with businesses including BhartiAirtel, the Commonwealth Secretariat in London, and String Bio were completed by BTech students with a focus on climate change. Sustain Labs Paris, the career partner of Anant School for Climate Action, provides placement options for the school’s students.
