BOI Specialist Officer Eligibility and Selection Process: The Bank of India (BOI) has announced a recruitment drive for Specialist Officers (SOs) in various streams up to Scale-IV under Project No. 2024-25/1. This initiative aims to strengthen the bank’s workforce with highly skilled professionals across multiple domains such as Information Technology (IT), Finance, Security, Risk Management, and Economics.

The selection process involves screening of qualifications, experience, and skills, followed by an online examination and/or interview.

BOI Specialist Officer Vacancies and Positions Available

BOI has listed several vacancies across multiple specializations. These positions range from Chief Managers (Scale-IV) to Senior Managers (Scale-III) and Managers (Scale-II). Some of the key roles include:

Scale-IV Positions

Chief Manager – IT (Database Administrator)

  • Educational Qualification: B.E./ B.Tech in Computer Science/ IT/ Electronics/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Communication OR MCA/ M.Sc. (Computer Science/ IT) with 60% marks.
  • Preferred Certification: Oracle Certified Associate/ Professional.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in managing Oracle databases in the BFSI domain.

Chief Manager – IT (Network)

  • Educational Qualification: B.E./ B.Tech in Computer Science/ IT/ Electronics/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Communication OR MCA/ M.Sc. (Computer Science/ IT) with 60% marks.
  • Preferred Certification: Cisco Expert/ Architect Certification, Juniper, Check Point Certified Security Administrator.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in networking domain.

Chief Manager – IT (Cloud Operations)

  • Educational Qualification: B.E./ B.Tech/ MCA/ M.Sc. (Computer Science/ IT) with 60% marks.
  • Preferred Certification: VMware/ Nutanix, AWS/ Microsoft, Kubernetes Certification.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in cloud administration and cloud security.

Chief Manager – IT (Infrastructure)

  • Educational Qualification: B.E./ B.Tech/ MCA/ M.Sc. (Computer Science/ IT) with 60% marks.
  • Preferred Certification: CompTIA (Server+), CCNA/ RHCA/ MCSA, ITIL.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in IT infrastructure management.

Chief Manager – IT (Middleware Administrator)

  • Educational Qualification: B.E./ B.Tech/ MCA/ M.Sc. (Computer Science/ IT) with 60% marks.
  • Preferred Certification: Oracle WebLogic, ITIL, AWS.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in middleware solutions.

Chief Manager – IT (Digital Payments)

  • Educational Qualification: B.E./ B.Tech/ MCA/ M.Sc. (Computer Science/ IT) with 60% marks.
  • Preferred Certification: TOGAF/ ITIL, AWS Cloud.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years, with 3 years in digital payment channels like UPI, IMPS, RTGS.

Chief Manager – Economist

  • Educational Qualification: Postgraduate in Economics/ Econometrics.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in financial analysis, economic forecasting, market research.

Chief Manager – Fintech

  • Educational Qualification: B.Tech/ MCA with 60% marks.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years in banking, 5 years in fintech development, API integration.

Chief Manager – IT (Security Cell)

  • Educational Qualification: B.E./ B.Tech/ MCA/ M.Sc. in IT/ Computer Science/ Electronics.
  • Preferred Certification: CISSP/ CISM/ CISA/ CRISC/ CEH.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years in IT security roles.

    Scale-III Positions

    1. Senior Manager – IT (Software Development, API Development, Database, Security, Cloud Operations, Middleware, Infrastructure, Product Management, Quality Control).
      • Educational Qualification: B.E./ B.Tech/ MCA/ M.Sc. (Computer Science/ IT) with 60% marks.
      • Experience: Minimum 5 years in respective domains.
      • Preferred Certification: Relevant IT certifications like Java, Oracle, API, AWS, ITIL, CISSP.

    Scale-II Positions

    Manager – IT (Digital Payments, System Administration, API Development, Testing, Front-End Development).

    • Educational Qualification: B.E./ B.Tech/ MCA/ M.Sc. (Computer Science/ IT) with 60% marks.
    • Experience: Minimum 3 years in relevant IT fields.

    Manager – Finance & Accounts, Risk, GST, TDS, Civil & Electrical Engineering.

    • Educational Qualification: CA/ MBA (Finance)/ CFA/ FRM or B.Tech in Civil/ Electrical Engineering.
    • Experience: Minimum 3 years in banking, risk management, taxation, or engineering.

      Selection Process for BOI Specialist Officer

      The selection process consists of an online test and/or personal interview based on the number of applications received.

      1. Online Examination (If Conducted)

      The exam is expected to cover the following sections:

      • Professional Knowledge (Relevant to the Post) – 100 Marks
      • English Language – 25 Marks
      • General Awareness with Special Reference to Banking Industry – 25 Marks

      The online test will be of 150 marks with a duration of 120 minutes.

      2. Interview

      Candidates who qualify for the written test (if applicable) will be called for a personal interview, which carries 60 marks. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview will be:

      • General/EWS Candidates: 40%
      • SC/ST/OBC/PWD Candidates: 35%

      3. Final Selection

      The final merit list will be prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the online test (if applicable) and the interview. Candidates will be selected in order of merit, considering the number of vacancies and reservations.
