Amit Shah, the union home minister, was in Gandhinagar on Sunday for the Indian Institute of Teacher Education’s sixth convocation. Shah underlined the need to teach children in their mother tongues during his speech at the IITE convocation.
In eight different programmes, 2,927 students from IITE Gujarat received their diplomas. Six of the seven gold medalists are female, and 2,000 of the pupils are female.
“Children who learn in their mother tongue have extraordinarily good perception, logic, and decision-making skills, which is crucial for nation-building. No one will be able to hinder the country’s advancement if our resolve to teach our children in their mother tongue is realized,” Shah mentioned.
Speaking at the convocation, Shah stated that it is the duty of the populace to safeguard and advance their native tongues. Because of this, he continued, every citizen should decide to teach their kids in their native tongue.
As Gujarat’s chief minister, Prime Minister Narendra Modi established the IITE with the goal of fusing eastern and western educational ideals, according to Shah.
The Chancellor of IITE, Acharya Devvrat, and the Governor of Gujarat were among the dignitaries in attendance.
