Assam UG Admission 2023: First merit list will release today & issue an advisory

The Director of Higher Education, Assam has asked state universities to publish the first merit list by today, July 11. The following Universities Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University, and Bodoland University come under the state universities that offer undergraduate (UG). The Assam Directorate of Higher Education has directed to update the URL of the merit list in the Samarth portal, assamadmission.samarth.ac.in.

On July 10, the Assam education department released the notification for UG admission,  inviting applicants from all state universities and colleges offering four-year undergraduate programmes (FYUP).

The applicants who have registered, completed and have selected at least one programme application form submission through Assam admission portal, assamadmission.samarth.ac.in, are eligible for Assam UG admission 2023.

No candidates who are chosen would be denied admission, as long as they failed to present the necessary paperwork.  The statement read, “Admission can be done concurrently for various programmes for which the required programme users credentials have been shared with the colleges/universities.

According to the advisory board, there won’t be a waitlist for admission; instead, candidates who take part in the second round will be able to fill the seats that were left open after the first round.  ‘Spot entry’ will be permitted if any seats are still available after the third round.

On July 23 and 24, the spot admission procedure will take place. Any applicant who does not submit an application between June 14 and July 3, 2023 will have the option to resubmit an application for one or ten programmes. Nevertheless, during the spot admission application drive from July 20 to 22, only programmes or institutions with open seats will be shown.

For consideration of admission under the fee waiver programme, a family income certificate must be submitted, it stated.
