AMU’s Professor Sami Rafiq Delivers Keynote Address at Calicut University Seminar
ALIGARH : Prof Sami Rafiq, Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University delivered the keynote address at Calicut University during the two-day International Seminar on “Voices of the Earth: Global Perspectives on Climate Fiction and Environmental Narratives,” organized by the Department of English, University of Calicut.
In her address, Prof Rafiq spoke about the spiritual and psychic connections with nature and proposed ideas for mitigating the impacts of climate change. She explored the profound relationship between women and the environment, while referring to the some eminent authors, including Thich Nhat Hanh, Vandana Shiva and Robin Wall Kimmerer, to emphasize the importance of environmental consciousness.
Prof Rafiq gifted books on Aligarh and Aligarh-based poets to the Department of English library at Calicut University.
