AMUAAQ cruise to opening win over UPAQ for Sir Syed Memorial Tournament 2025 : A Celebration of Unity and Sportsmanship

Doha : Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ) an associate organization (AO) of ICBF under the aegis of the Embassy of India, Qatar hosted an exciting cricket match between the Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ) and the Uttar Pradesh Association of Qatar (UPQA). The event, aptly themed “Alig Connect: One Team, One Dream,” symbolized the spirit of unity and collaboration among alumni, showcasing the power of sports to bring people together.
The match was not just a display of cricketing prowess; it was a celebration of talent, sportsmanship, and community bonding. Families and cricket enthusiasts flocked to the ground, eager to witness a contest that promised excitement and camaraderie. UPAQ won the toss and opted to bat first and scored 101 for 8 in 15 overs. On the other hand, AMUAAQ emerged victoriously in this match, chasing an impressive 102 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in their allotted 15 overs and won the match by 8 wickets.This win would be attributed to the well bowling and batting by AMUAAQ .
The standout performer of the match was Mohd. Anees, who was honored with the Man of the Match award for his remarkable performance. He contributed a vital 59 runs off 28 with the bat. His exceptional efforts were pivotal in steering his team to victory, highlighting his versatility and talent on the field.
Brief scores: UPAQ 101 for 8 in 15 overs (Murtaza 43 runs 27 17 balls, Abuzar 20 runs 24 balls, Imran took 2W/19 in 3 overs and Tawwab 1 for 22 in 3 Overs lost to AMUAAQ 102/2 in 9.3 Overs (Anees 59 runs in 28 balls , Nayeem 15 runs in 20 balls ; Tafseer 1W/22 in 3 Overs and Murtaza 1W/221 in their 3 overs).
