Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Qatar Toastmasters shine at the Annual Area-19 Contest

AMU Alumni Qatar Toastmasters shine at the Annual Area 19 Speech Contest of District 116 Toastmaster International. The Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Toastmasters Club celebrated a remarkable achievement by winning all four competitions at the Area 19 contest held on January 24, 2025, at the Rixos Gulf Hotel in Doha. This proud moment was highlighted by the club’s president, Dr. Mohammed Nayeem, who expressed immense pride in the dedication and teamwork of its members. The event was expertly organized by TM Dr. Nadeem Jilani, the Area 19 Director, who inspired attendees with his captivating opening and closing speeches, beautifully interwoven with Urdu couplets. Contest Manager TM Jawed Ahmad conducted the event with skill, culminating in a spirited Republic Day celebration that filled participants with national pride as they waved the Indian flag.
Notable winners included Dr. Nayeem, who secured first prizes in both the International Speech and Evaluation Speech competitions, and TM Dr. Ashna Nusrat, whose heart-touching speech about overcoming challenges related to her mother’s health deeply moved the audience. TM Saba Khan brought her unique sense of humor to the stage as Contest Chair for the Humorous Speech contest, enhancing the event’s enjoyment. Additionally, TM Almas Ahmad made an incredible debut by winning Table Topic Speech contest, while TM Rumman Khalid participated for the first time and won first prize in the Humorous Speech contest.
The success of this event was also attributed to TM Badreya, who demonstrated exceptional dedication by representing the club on short notice, as well as TM Irfan and TM Lutfi Khan Kaker, who diligently fulfilled their roles as Sergeant-at-Arms. Timers TM Imadduddin and TM Siddhique ensured that everything ran smoothly, while ballot counters TM Yamina and TM Amber handled their responsibilities with professionalism and fairness. This victory is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of all members of the Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Toastmasters Club, paving the way for many more successes together in the future.
Toastmasters International, a century-old non-profit organization, is dedicated to fostering public speaking and leadership skills through a global network of clubs. The AMU Alumni Toastmasters Club operates as one of four divisions of the Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ), which functions as an associate organization of the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) under the auspices of the Embassy of India in Doha.
