Safety concern are important for all. So, the National Institute of Technology Calicut has arranged a session to depict the importance of safety for a safe community and social well-being. The session was targeted on Sexual Harassment. The topic is so sensitive that its legal aspect is also important to know.

The session was hosted by Internal Complain Committee (ICC) and SGC (Students Grievance Cell). The session was an educational program regarding the knowledge of legal matrices which are there for sexual harassment cases.

The event was steered by Mr. Cicy Joseph. She is the Head of Department of Law in Kerela Police Academy. Her presence was a value addition for the event. She has tremendous knowledge and experience in the legal domain. Her interaction helped people understanding the value of legal education.

The NIT, Calicut has always provided a safe environment to the people there. ICC is a crucial body of the institute. It plays very important role in addressing and solving the cases of sexual harassment. A strong partnership with SGC has given a different dimension to the event. The collaboration has ensured the proper well- being of the community and people.

In the event students, teachers, staff members, were present. It proves the promise of a safe environment for study by the institution. There were various topics discussed at the event like what is sexual harassment is all about, its preventions, legal provisions, active response to the case.

The chief guest has thrown light on the importance of legal knowledge in present time. It reduces the chances of such activities which disturbs the people in the community. NIT Calicut is all set to provide a better and safe environment to everyone associated with the institute. The institute is vigilant enough to prevent such incidences to happen in the society.
