

ALIGARH : Three feeding pods have been installed at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) Hospital, Aligarh Muslim University to provide the feeding mothers with a secluded space to feed their babies and maintain their privacy.
The three feeding pods, installed in the main OPD hall, at the Pediatric OPD and in the SNCU premises, are equipped with adequate lighting, fan and comfortable seating facility for mothers providing them with a beautiful and lively interior.
The Dean, Faculty of Medicine, and Principal and CMS, JNMC, Prof. Veena Maheshwari, Medical Superintendent Prof. S. Amjad Ali Rizvi, Deputy Medical Superintendent (Trauma OPD) Dr. Mohd. Saquib, along with Prof. S. Manazir Ali inaugurated these pods.
Prof. Veena Maheshwari expressed happiness and appreciated the initiative which adds to the facilities provided by the college to the visiting patients and their caretakers.
Thanking the sponsors, Himalaya Baby Care, Prof. Zeeba Zaka-ur-Rab, Chairperson, Department of Pediatrics said that the objective behind installing these pods is to promote and support breastfeeding and help maintain the privacy of the feeding mothers in a safe, secure and cosy space.
Prof. Kamran Afzal, Prof. Wasif Mohd. Ali, Dr. Gulnaz Nadri, Dr. Ayisha Asrarul Haque, residents and staff members of the OPD and SNCU/NICU were present on the occasion.
