100 ‘5G Use Case Labs’ awarded by PM Narendra Modi at IMC 2023

On the occasion of the 7th edition of India Mobile Congress 2023, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated and presented 100 ‘5G Use Case Labs’ to different education institutes across the country.

The IITs, along with other major tech institutes located in different states of India, have been awarded 5G use case labs under 100 5G lab initiatives. During the inauguration ceremony, PM Modi addressed the event about the change of times and its ability to change the future. The three-day event between the 27th and 29th of October 2023 will come together at Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.

What is the 5G Use Case Lab?

These 5G lab initiatives are believed to add upskills to innovations and startups that would indulge various applications of new-generation technology and the digital world. On the occasion mentioned, one of the most prominent announcements was that 5G technology would be available for over 100 million Indians.

This initiative was led by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Communications and IT. 

PM Modi at India Mobile Congress 2023

While addressing the 7th edition of India Mobile Congress 2023, PM Narendra Modi shared his vision for the future of India. He stated, ‘This event, held in the times of rapidly changing world in the 21st century, has the ability to change the future of crores of people’. 

India’s tech pace is increasing day by day; previously, it was ranked in the 118th position and is currently in the 43rd position. This has been a massive growth for India in mobile broadband speed. With these changes in mind, Mr. Prime Minister expects our future to be here and now.

Modi ji also talked about his and India’s progress in the past decade. He remembered the start of his government in 2014, when people started discarding those old, slow phones in order to adapt to smarter and faster technology. Those small steps have led India to a place where India is. We’re not only expanding 5G applications but also starting with 6G technology.
