How to Remove Percentage of Marks 

Given below is The formula on How to take out Percentage of Marks:

Therefore: Percentage = (Obtained Marks / Total Marks) * 100

In the formula it is given that - 

  • Obtained Marks is the “Marks received” by the student  
  • Whereas the Total Marks is “Maximum marks possible” 

Steps to Calculate Percentage of Marks:

  1. Marks Obtained - First whatever marks you obtain like: for example - calculate percentage of marks of 6 subjects.
  2. Total Marks: Find out how much in total you scored in the exam. This is usually mentioned on the question paper or provided by your teacher.
  3. Further put the digits in the Formula: FOR INSTANCE: 

Put the obtained marks and total marks into the percentage formula: Percentage = (Obtained Marks / Total Marks) * 100

Here’s how you can check with the example:  Percentage = (Obtained Marks / Total Marks) * 100

Let's take the scores as 94, 84, 75, 81, 98, and 78 in 6 subjects respectively. 

Then you need to Calculate the “Obtained Marks” (94 + 84 + 75 + 81 + 98 + 78 = 510) and then you need to divide it by the total achievable marks, which is 600 which is  “Total Marks”, so the equation will be (510/600 = 0.85). When you multiply the result by 100 you get your percentage which is 85.
