What is the use of ECE Engineering ?

ECE Engineering full form is Electronics and Communications Engineering. Electronics and Communications Engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with transmission of information across channel. It is mainly concerned with researching, designing, developing, and testing electronic equipment used in various systems. It is basically dealing with the communication part with the knowledge of the electronics field. ECE Engineering deals with a vast range of things in its field. Some of them are - analog transmission, basic electronics, microprocessors, solid-state devices, digital and analog communication, analog integrated circuits, microwave engineering, satellite communication, antennae, and wave progression.

There are two degrees available in ECE Engineering – B.Tech & M.Tech. Duration of B.Tech is 4 years, and duration of M.Tech is 2 years. For a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering,  the eligibility criteria for B.Tech includes –

  • Qualify in 10+2 examination.
  • Minimum aggregate of 60% marks in the previous qualifying exam.
  • Have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects.

The eligibility criteria for M.Tech includes –

  • Must have a BTech degree in the same specialization.
  • Must have an aggregate passing percentage of the subjects studied at the degree level.

Along with the above mentioned official eligibility criteria, other required skills to pursue a degree in in Electronics and Communications Engineering are –Teamwork, methodical mind, attention to detail, aptitude for Mathematics, innovation, time management, communication, project management, strong IT skills, inter-personal skills.
