The COVID-19 epidemic caused changes to the COMEDK timetable. The Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering institutions Association (KUPECA), which represents more than 150 engineering institutions, has, however, directed COMEDK to hold the test on the second Sunday of May.

- The General Merit applicants must have completed Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 45% (40% for SC, ST, and OBC candidates of the State of Karnataka) and must have passed each of these courses separately. Along with Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, and Electronics as one optional course, Physics and Mathematics are required disciplines. Changes made by the AICTE/VTU to the qualifying requirements, if any, shall be implemented.
- A COMEDK Entrance Test attempt for engineering course admission is sufficient to be included in the rank list.
- Since there are no lateral entry admissions, diploma applicants are not permitted to take the entrance test.
