The All India Bar Examination – XVIII (AIBE 18) test dates and schedule have been released by the Bar Council of India (BCI). At the official website, allindiabarexamination.com, the AIBE 18 registration for 2023 has begun. For the purpose of granting the Certificate of Practise (COP) for the practice of law in an Indian court, the test is held.

Interested candidates may submit an application for AIBE XVIII through September 30, 2023. AIBE XVIII (18) 2023–2024 will take place all throughout the nation in offline mode.

On October 29, 2023, several testing locations around the nation will host the AIBE 18 exam. The bar test online registration period will end on September 30.

The pass rate has also been raised by the council from 40% to 45% for general category applicants, while Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and PwD candidates must now achieve a 40% score to pass the exam. Prior to that time, 35% of applicants qualified for reserved categories.

According to the exam format, applicants will have three hours and thirty minutes to complete 100 multiple-choice questions. The OMR form must be filled out with the correct answers.

AIBE (18) Eligibility Criteria 2023-24

  1. The AIBE 2023 eligibility requirements are set forth by the Bar Council of India (BCI) for applicants who wish to sit for the test. These are the requirements for participation in AIBE XVIII (18).
  2. Education Requirement: Law degree (3-year LLB and 5-year LLB) from a school approved by the Indian Bar Council.
  3. Age limitation – There is no age limit for taking the AIBE exam.
  4. Law grads must have a current enrollment certificate, which is a necessity. Within two years of enrolling at any of the state bar councils, they must pass the AIBE exam.

About AIBE

The Bar Council of India (BCI) administers the All India Bar Examination (AIBE), a certification test, twice a year. The benchmark for law graduates wishing to practice in India is the AIBE test. A Certificate of Practice (CoP) is given to those who pass the AIBE test, allowing them to practice law in India.

Exam Pattern:  AIBE (18)  2023–24

100 objective-type questions will be on the offline AIBE exam. The exam does not use negative marking. Additionally, the AIBE is not an open-book test, according to the exam pattern that the council issued. Candidates may, however, transport Bare Acts without notes.
