WBMCC NEET UG Counselling 2023: Choice Filling, Locking for Stray Round Ends Today

Today, the West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) will close the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (WB NEET) UG 2023 counselling round option filling and choice locking facility. Candidates can enter their preferences and save them until midnight tonight.
The WBMCC also issued a notification regarding the changing of NRI quota seats to management quota seats in the next round of WB NEET UG counselling. “The NRI quota seats in the online stray round seat matrix shall be converted to the management quota seat during the online stray round allotment process if no eligible and qualified NRI candidate remains to take such seats in the online stray round itself,” the WBMCC notice stated.
The change of quota seats is being done because the next round would be the last round for admission to the state’s MBBS programmes. The MCC and National Medical Commission have set September 30 as the final day for applications to MBBS programmes for the academic year 2023–24.

The applicants must take the assigned seat if they are given a seat in the round of stray vacancies.
An official statement from the WBMCC further stated, “If such assigned candidate remains unreported in online stray vacancy round, then information of such candidate shall be shared with MCC, National Medical Commission (NMC), and National Testing Agency (NTA) to bar the candidate from appearing in NEET UG 2024 exam.
The deadline for applying and paying fees has been extended by the committee until September 30.
The committee has cancelled the prior schedule announced for the physical stray round counselling at institutions due to be held from September 28 to September 30 in accordance with NMC norms, which provide that there would be no physical stray round for admission to the West Bengal NEET UG admissions.
