• Pay Scale: ₹1,00,000 – 2,60,000 per month
  • Eligible for elevation to ₹1,20,000 – 2,80,000 after three years of regular service
• Selection Method: Absorption through composite method

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Must hold a Certificate of Competency as Master of Foreign Going Ship issued by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry.
• Must have a Pilot License and at least eight years of experience as a Master of Foreign Going Ship or in piloting.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit is 48 years.

Experience

• Officers holding the post of Harbour Master in the pay scale of ₹1,00,000 – 2,60,000 with one year of regular service.
• Officers holding the post of Harbour Master in the pay scale of ₹90,000 – 2,40,000 with two years of regular service.
• Officers from government, semi-government, public sector undertakings, or autonomous bodies holding Deputy Conservator or Harbour Master posts with two years of regular service are also eligible.

How to Apply for VOCPA Recruitment 2025

Online Application

1. Visit the Ministry’s Online Applications Portal (OAP): http://onlinevacancy.shipmin.nic.in
2. Application Window: From 04 March 2025 to 02 April 2025.
3. No other mode of application will be accepted.

Submission of Hard Copy

• After submitting the online application, candidates must send a hard copy through their administrative port.
• The hard copy should include the application printout along with:
  1. Certified copies of APARs for the last 5 years.
  2. Attested copies of educational certificates and work experience proof.
  3. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the respective port.
  4. Certificate from the Head of Office (Annexure-III).
  5. Undertaking of the applicant not to withdraw candidature if selected.
  6. Vigilance/Administrative Clearance in the prescribed format (Annexure-IV).
  7. Verification of qualification certificates and degree recognition.
  8. Two recent passport-size photographs in a sealed envelope.
  9. Details of any penalties imposed in the last 10 years.
• The hard copy must be forwarded by the administrative port and reach V.O.Chidambaranar Port Authority, Tuticorin – 628004 by 17 April 2025.
