Urdu teachers from AMU schools learn how to use modern devices in teaching Urdu during the Refresher Course organized by Urdu Academy

ALIGARH  : The week-long Urdu Refresher Course, titled “Urdu Language and Literature Teaching: Modern Teaching Methods and Possibilities,” organized by the Urdu Academy, Aligarh Muslim University concluded with a valedictory function addressed by the chief guest, Dean, Students’ Welfare, Prof Rafiuddin and the guest of honour, Dean, Faculty of Social Science, Prof Shafey Kidwai.

Prof Rafiuddin said that modern teaching methods in schools will increase the interest of Urdu students and it is imperative for the Urdu teachers to learn and employ modern teaching tools for better results.

He said that teachers are harbinger of change in society and they should be aware of the modern teaching devices as well.

Prof Shafey Kidwai said that for the best education and development of Urdu, the teaching system of Urdu should be improved from nursery to higher classes. He emphasized the need to improve the Urdu curricula at different levels.

In his presidential remarks, Prof. Quamrul Hooda Faridi, Director of the Academy, said that 18 Urdu teachers from 10 AMU schools participated in the refresher course and learned modern methods of Urdu teaching.

He said that the resource persons conducted various sessions during the programme covering various topics including using modern devices and technological support in teaching Urdu fiction, prose and criticism.

Dr. Mushtaque Sadaf conducted the programme, while Dr. Rafiuddin extended a vote of thanks.
