UGC Invites Online Applications for Joint Secretary Post: Check Last Date Here

University Grants Commission gave a recruitment update on the Joint Secretary Post. The candidates will be selected on a deputation basis. The late date to submit online applications is December 3, 2023

There are 4 positions for the same and the mode of recruitment would be on a deputation basis for One year and extendable up to 5 years on a year-to-year basis.

Qualifications Required and Eligibility Criteria

Officers under the Central Government, State Governments, Universities, and Autonomous Bodies should have 5 years of experience in Educational Administration. And hold analogous posts regularly in the department.

The maximum age limit for the appointment by deputation shall not be more than 56 years as of the last date of receipt of applications. The recipients selected for the post would work related to the development of UGC as per the UGC Act 1956. And would work as an Educational Administrator as well.

UGC has also informed the candidates in the official notice that “The period of deputation including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization of the central Government shall ordinarily not exceed five years”. 

Guidelines to Fill Online Application

  • Interested candidates may apply online at the UGC website WWW.ugc.gov.in. They are also advised to verify themselves on the above-mentioned eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates should enter valid e-mail IDs and Mobile Numbers, to get notifications about interviews and call letters.
  • Candidates are requested to first scan their photograph in JEPG format. The size allowed is up to 200KB.
  • The scanned copy of the required documents should be submitted as per the prescribed formats.
  • Applications shall be entertained only when the required documents are submitted in the given format during the submission.
  • Applicants should ensure that applications are accompanied by grading APARs for the last five years attested by an officer, not below the rank of undersecretary/ equivalent of forwarding organization.
  • Click the submit button after filling out the form carefully. 
  • UGC reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post at any time without giving any reason. Any consequential vacancies arising at the time of the interview may also be filled up by the available candidates.
  • The candidates shortlisted for the interview will be informed by website notification or e-mail.
