Tsinghua University’s 2024 Annual Academy Work Exchange Meeting Focuses on Collaboration and Innovation

On the morning of January 2, Tsinghua University held the 2024 Annual Work Exchange Meeting of the Academy in the reception hall of the main building. President Li Luming and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President Bai Benfeng attended the meeting. Vice President Peng Gang presided over the meeting.

Li Luming expressed his gratitude to the teachers of the college, headed by the dean, for their hard work in talent cultivation. He said that the key to a first-class university lies in cultivating first-class talents, and first-class undergraduate education is the foundation of a first-class university. In the past year, the school has thoroughly implemented the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the National Education Conference, and has always insisted on taking moral education as the fundamental task to comprehensively improve the quality of independent talent cultivation. Looking to the future, it is hoped that the college will take the initiative to respond to new situations, new changes and new challenges, actively explore the laws of talent cultivation in adapting to the rapidly changing external environmental factors and the long-term factors of talent growth and development, and cultivate fertile soil for talent growth and promote the all-round development of students with a long-term vision; adhere to problem-oriented, give full play to Tsinghua’s wisdom, work together to explore new mechanisms and solve new problems in practice; seize the development opportunities of higher education in the intelligent era, and promote the construction of artificial intelligence-enabled teaching and curriculum system to a higher level, and jointly contribute to the construction of Tsinghua-style Chinese college system, the independent cultivation of top-notch innovative talents, and the efforts to open up a new situation of high-quality development of world-class universities with Chinese characteristics.

The heads of 11 academies, including Xinya Academy, Zhili Academy, Rixin Academy, Weiyang Academy, Tanwei Academy, Xingjian Academy, Qiuzhen Academy, Weixian Academy, Xiuzhong Academy, Dushi Academy, and Zhishan Academy, reported on the progress of the academies’ work in party building, talent training, student development and other aspects.

The purpose of this meeting is to promote mutual learning and reference among colleges through communication and sharing, and to provide strong support for the high-quality development of the school’s talent training. More than 120 people, including the school’s teaching supervision team, representatives of functional departments and colleges, deans and vice deans of each college, representatives of faculty and staff of the college, and student representatives, attended the meeting.
