Tsinghua Alumni Association Hosts Third Executive Meeting of the 9th Council in 2024

On the morning of December 28th, the third executive meeting of the 9th Council of the Tsinghua Alumni Association in 2024 was held in the third conference room of Institute A. Li Luming, president of the university and president of the Alumni Association, presided over the meeting. Xiang Botao, executive vice secretary of the Party Committee of the university, Jiang Shengyao, vice president of the Alumni Association, Shi Zongkai, deputy director of the University Affairs Committee and vice president of the Alumni Association, Han Jingyang, vice president of the Alumni Association, Ji Junmin, deputy director of the University Affairs Committee and vice president of the Alumni Association, and Wang Yan attended the meeting.

Li Luming was giving a speech

Li Luming thanked all the executive directors and alumni for their long-term care and support for the school’s work, and introduced the school’s in-depth study and implementation of the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, the launch of further comprehensive reforms, and the situation in talent training, scientific research, teacher team building, discipline construction, and global strategy implementation in the past year. He said that alumni are Tsinghua’s precious wealth. The Alumni Association uses Tsinghua culture as a bond to closely unite alumni and plays an important role in promoting the Tsinghua spirit, serving the growth of alumni, and promoting the development of the school and society. In the face of new situations and new challenges, the Alumni Association should clarify its own public welfare organization positioning, play a good role as a bridge between alumni and the alma mater, improve its own system construction, optimize the work process system, and provide alumni services with a more open and inclusive attitude. Continuously promote the high-quality and sustainable development of alumni work, and contribute more to helping the school move to the forefront of world-class universities, serving the country’s major strategic needs, and promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Tang Jie reports on recent work

Tang Jie, Director of the Alumni Affairs Office and Secretary-General of the Alumni Association, gave a report on alumni work in the second half of 2024 from the aspects of liaison work, cultural communication, development services, information construction, administration, and party building, and reported on the main directions and plans for the next step of work.

During the free exchange session, Jiang Shengyao, Shi Zonkai and other executive directors exchanged views and discussed the work of the Alumni Association and the Secretariat, focusing on how to better play the role of executive directors and standardize the management of the Alumni Association.

The meeting reviewed the “Implementation Measures of the Tsinghua Alumni Association on Implementing the “Three Major Issues” Decision-making System (Draft)” and the “Tsinghua Alumni Association Seal Management Measures (Draft)”, agreed to the appointment of departments and department heads under the Alumni Association Secretariat, and formed the resolution of the third executive meeting of the 9th Council of the Tsinghua Alumni Association in 2024.
