Three-Day Management Development Programme on Quantitative Techniques Inaugurated at CIMP


Patna : The Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP), in association with the Planning and Development Department, Government of Bihar, and under the State Support Mission of NITI Aayog, inaugurated a three-day residential Management Development Programme (MDP) on Quantitative Techniques today. Scheduled from January 9 to January 11, 2025, the programme is designed to equip government officials with advanced tools for data analysis and decision-making, thereby strengthening governance and planning across Bihar.
The programme features the participation of 25 officials from the Planning and Development Department, including Joint Directors, Deputy Directors, District Statistical Officers, Assistant Directors, Block Statistical Officers, Regional Planning Officers, and District Planning Officers.
As the Lead Knowledge Institute under NITI Aayog’s State Support Mission, CIMP plays a pivotal role in supporting evidence-based policy-making and developmental initiatives in Bihar. The inaugural session was graced by the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh, Director of CIMP; Prof. Sunil Kumar, Professor of Practice at CIMP; and Prof. Ankit Sharma, Associate Professor at CIMP.
The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and the pursuit of learning. In his welcome address, Prof. Singh emphasized the growing significance of data analytics in evidence-based decision-making and encouraged participants to actively engage with the programme to enhance their skills in this vital domain.
The programme’s curriculum covers a range of key topics, including data classification and clustering, which helps categorize and group data; optimization techniques aimed at improving decision-making; data visualization for representing complex data through graphs and charts; regression analysis to understand relationships between variables; and decision tree methodologies to support structured decision-making based on data.
The programme encourages active participation and collaborative learning, ensuring that participants gain practical insights into quantitative techniques. It will conclude on January 11, 2025, with a feedback session and the distribution of certificates to participants.
This MDP represents a significant step towards enhancing the analytical capabilities of government officials and promoting more effective, data-driven governance in Bihar.
