Eligibility Criteria

Option A:

1. Educational Qualification:
   • A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in a relevant subject from an Indian or accredited foreign university.
   • Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, CSIR, or an equivalent exam like SLET/SET.
   • Candidates with a Ph.D. as per UGC regulations (2009/2016) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
2. Ph.D. Exemption Criteria:
   • The Ph.D. degree must be awarded in regular mode.
   • The thesis must have been evaluated by at least two external examiners.
   • The candidate must have successfully completed an open Ph.D. viva voce.
   • The candidate must have published two research papers from their Ph.D. work, with at least one in a refereed journal.
   • The candidate must have presented at least two conference/seminar papers based on their Ph.D. research.

Option B:

• Candidates who have obtained a Ph.D. from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 universities worldwide (as per QS, THE, or ARWU rankings) are also eligible.
