Smriti Zubin Irani, the minister of women and child development, informed the Lok Sabha today that around 10.11 crore beneficiaries had been enrolled under the POSHAN Abhiyaan. The programme was introduced on March 8, 2018, according to the minister, to enhance the nutritional status of children aged 0 to 6 years, adolescent females, pregnant women, and nursing moms.
“Poshan Abhiyan is part of the Integrated Nutrition Support Programme, Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, which includes Anganwadi Services and Scheme for Adolescent Girls,” the written statement reads.
