OVER 3,000 job opportunities for youth: AICTE collaborates with EduSkills to offer 1 lakh virtual internships

For youth, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the EduSkills Foundation will provide 100,000 virtual internships and more than 3,000 career possibilities.
Through the AICTE internship portal, applicants can submit applications for the programme. Zscaler will support the virtual internships, and Wonderbotz has promised to hire 3,000 people who finish the programme successfully. The EduSkills Foundation partners with Zscaler and Wonderbotz.
The AICTE’s chairman, TG Sitharam, introduced the internship initiative. At the launch ceremony were also co-founder Steve LaValle, AICTE CCO Buddha Chandrasekhar, assistant director BM Tiwari, regional vice-president of Zscaler India Ninad Katkar, and CEO of EduSkills Shubhajit Jagadev.
As of today, 1,20,000 students from four batches who made up the initiative have finished their internships, demonstrating its enormous success.
50,000 students in the current fifth class have finished internships in 12 different fields. Nine companies, including Juniper, Palo Alto, and Amazon Web Services (AWS), support the internship scheme.
AICTE further mentioned that new corporate initiatives are planned to increase the variety of internship opportunities. According to the council, this move is especially helpful for students from tier-three cities and rural areas who lacked such benefits.
More similar initiatives, according to Sitharam, could improve institutional sustainability and boost the need for engineers. He also praised EduSkills’ efforts in organising industrial trips with Juniper’s assistance and advised making these tours available to teachers and students at remote universities.
By providing these possibilities for internships in cutting-edge technology, the AICTE aspires to promote entrepreneurship across the nation and create jobs.
