On Saturday, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM- Lucknow) organized a valedictory ceremony for the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship Programme

Up to 105 individuals joined the program and each received a certificate for the completion of their two-year journey in Public Policy and management. It encouraged“transformation of public policy, fostering industry engagement, and advancement in entrepreneurship”.
Bhavana Das of Assam, Pallavi Dhiman of Mizoram, and Anuradha Nirwan of Uttar Pradesh were among the top honors of the program along with those 105 students.
The chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra was also present at the event where he shared his views on the UP’s rapid development in entrepreneurship and startups. While addressing the closing ceremony of the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship Programme he added, “Our products got much attention during the International Trade Show at Greater Noida. Exports from Uttar Pradesh have risen rapidly”, “Our products have reached the world through the One District One Product Platform”.

IIM Lucknow has promised to keep up with the overall development and implementation of contextualized programs. With these initiatives, many new students have also approached to collaborate effectively with local administrations and implement various unique projects on the ground.
Prof. Archana Shukla, Director of IIM Lucknow shared her thoughts by adding, “The engagement of fellows at districts complemented with exceptional mentoring support from the institute has been able to instill a sustained dialogue of skill development at the local level”.
The faculty members also praised PM Narendra Modi and honorable CM Yogi Adityanath for the overall rapid development of the state, saying that startups and investments for business are the results of encouragement led by the state government through their schemes and programs.
What is the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship?
Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship (MGNF) program was introduced to strengthen the skill development governance. It is a two-year academic program that hosts different sessions at IIMs to strengthen the district skill administrations and help district committees with skill development. With this, the fellows joining the program will be given a stipend of 50,000 every month during the first year and up to 60,000 during the second year of their fellowship.
