NTA PhD entrance test 2023 : Registration for DU, JNU, BHU, BBAU commences; negative marking, eligibility criteria

For the University of Delhi (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), the National Testing Agency (NTA) has begun accepting registrations for the PhD entrance test.

On the official website, phd-admission.samarth.ac.in, eligible applicants may apply for the NTA PhD entrance test in 2023. September 8 is the last day to submit an application and pay the application fee.

On September 9, NTA will start the PhD entrance test 2023 correction window. By September 11, candidates will be able to make changes to the application

Eligibility Criteria:

According to the requirements, applicants who have completed a postgraduate degree or an equivalent exam, or who plan to do so in 2023, may take the PhD entrance exams for DU, JNU, BHU, and BBAU regardless of their age. There is no upper age limit for taking the exam.

  • A master’s degree is required for admission to the PhD programme.
  • Students with MTech and ME degrees are also eligible for admission to PhD programmes in 2023.
  • For the 2023 session, PhD admission will be determined by the entrance exam.
  • Universities and institutions will hold the CSIR-UGC NET, UGC NET, DBT JRF Biotech Entrance Test, JRF-GATE, and IISC PhD Entrance Exam for PhD Admission in 2023. Students must then appear for an interview.
  • Candidates for a PhD in engineering or technology must have a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score.

How to apply for a PhD in 2023?

  • Students must access the website of the relevant university and download the form.
  • Start filling out the form after verifying your eligibility.
  • Additionally, complete the entrance exam form and download the admission card.
  • Students are required to attend the interview once they have passed the entrance exam.
  • Students will be informed of their final selections for the qualifying examinations and interviews.

Exam Criteria:

The PhD admission examination in 2023 will last three hours. The entrance exam will be divided into two sections: section 1 will cover research technique, and section 2 will cover the chosen topic. 100 multiple-choice questions will be on the exam paper. Candidates will receive four marks for each accurate response under the marking scheme, but one mark will be subtracted for each incorrect response.

 In the official announcement, NTA stated that “Information about the eligibility, scheme of the exam, exam centres, exam timings, exam fee, procedure for applying, etc. are contained in the Information Bulletin published on the website of NTA.”
