NMC Opens Applications for New Medical Colleges, Expansion of UG, PG Seats Course Renewal

For the academic year 2024–2025, the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued an invitation for proposals for the creation of new medical schools, the renewal of current medical programmes, and an increase in undergraduate and postgraduate medical seats.
The commission said in an official notice, “Please upload the relevant and valid documents only. Old, invalid and expired documents viz. EC and COA will not be accepted,”
The following paperwork will be required, in accordance with the procedures, for submitting applications for the establishment of new medical colleges:
- Specifics on the person, entity, or government that is founding the new medical college.

- Payment of fees in accordance with NMC regulations
The Minimum Standard Requirements for Establishment of New Medical College/Increase of Seats in MBBS Course Guidelines, 2023, were stated by NMC when inviting applications for the UG level. The rules primarily cover the departments that must be present, the number of seats permitted, a description of the equipment, accommodations, and instructional facilities.
While the deadline for MD, MS, and MDS programmes is September 15, the application deadline for MBBS programmes is September 17. The commission has also published instructions, procedures, and costs for submitting applications as well as costs for a number of operations, including inspections, the beginning of courses, recognition, name changes, etc.
