NEET UG Counselling 2023: MCC adds 7 colleges; no need for a migration document for AIQ seats

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has notified today that seven government and private medical colleges will now be included in the NEET UG counselling 2023 after receiving letters of permission (LOP) late for the undergraduate MBBS and BDS programmes.
Registration for the second round of NEET UG counselling will start on August 9 and last until August 14. From August 10 to August 15, candidates may select and lock their top-choice medical schools and programmes on the official website, mcc.nic.in.
Seven medical schools have been included in the second phase of NEET UG counselling.
Government Medical College, Anantnag
MSD ASMC , Bahraich,
Government Medical College, Udhampur,
NAMO Medical College and Research Institute, Silvassa,
Government Medical College, Bundi
Government Medical College, Hanumangarh.
Government Medical College, Kathua.
The MCC in a fresh notice mentioned, “It is to inform that some Government/Private Colleges who received LOP late for undergraduate courses, i.e, after the start of Round-1 of UG Counselling 2023, could not contribute their seats on MCC portal for Round-1 of counselling. The seats of such colleges will be taken up by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of DGHS in Round-2 of UG Counselling 2023.”
Moreover, “the commission noted that some Tamil Nadu medical colleges were not granting admissions to All India Quota (AIQ) students seeking MBBS admission who completed Class 12 from other state boards and who do not possess a migration certificate. The MCC informed that the presence of a migration certificate is not mandatory to get admission to AIQ seats in medical colleges. It further requested “all medical colleges to allow admissions of AIQ students even without the migration certificate”.
