NEET UG 2025 Exam Pattern Announced – Check Marking Scheme & Key Changes

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2025 exam pattern and marking scheme have been released. Candidates preparing for the medical entrance exam must familiarize themselves with the latest structure to optimize their preparation. NEET UG 2025 will be conducted in offline mode (pen-and-paper) and will follow the standard MCQ-based format covering Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

NEET UG 2025: Key Highlights

  • Exam Mode: Offline (Pen-and-paper)
  • Duration: 3 hours 20 minutes
  • Total Questions: 200 (180 to be attempted)
  • Subjects Covered: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology)
  • Marking Scheme: +4 for each correct answer, -1 for each incorrect answer
  • Total Marks: 720

The Biology section carries the highest weightage, with 90 questions (360 marks), followed by Physics and Chemistry, each with 45 questions (180 marks).

Each subject has two sections – A (mandatory) and B (optional), where candidates can attempt any 10 out of 15 questions in Section B.

NEET UG 2025 Marking Scheme

  • Correct Answer: +4 marks
  • Incorrect Answer: -1 mark (Negative marking applicable)
  • Unattempted Question: No marks deducted

Candidates must carefully mark their answers as multiple answers for a single question will be treated as incorrect, resulting in negative marking.

Important Instructions for NEET UG 2025 Aspirants

  • The OMR sheet must be filled accurately, as changes or overwriting will not be accepted.
  • Use only black/blue ballpoint pens provided at the examination center.
  • Ensure to carry the NEET UG admit card and valid ID proof on exam day.
  • Follow the dress code guidelines set by NTA for entry into the exam hall.
