Nanjing University’s China Democratic National Construction Association Holds New Year Symposium

On January 6, the grassroots committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association Nanjing University held a symposium at Tongxin Home on the Gulou Campus to farewell the old and welcome the new, to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, to learn about and exchange the achievements of the school’s “Forging Ahead Action”, and to make contributions to the construction ofThe “first NTU” made suggestions. Suo Wenbin, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

At the symposium, Suo Wenbin reported on the development of the university. He said that over the past year, Nanjing University has thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Second and Third Plenary Sessions of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, as well as the spirit of the National Education Conference, and fully implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important reply to young scholars who returned from studying abroad at our university, and continued to deepen the “Forging Ahead Action”. He gave a detailed introduction to the development and construction of the university from the aspects of discipline development, team building, and talent training, and encouraged the Nanjing University Democratic National Construction Association to play its advantages, actively offer suggestions, and contribute wisdom and strength to the construction of the “first Nanjing University”.

Luo Ping, executive deputy director of the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee, introduced the ideas and measures of the United Front Work Department in the next stage to support the democratic parties in strengthening their own construction.

Bian Qing, chairman of the grassroots committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association at Nanjing University, presided over the meeting and summarized the work of the grassroots committee in 2024, especially the remarkable achievements in organizational construction, political participation and decision-making.

During the exchange session, all the participants expressed that they would thoroughly implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, actively perform their duties, and strive for the high-quality development of the school. They also put forward constructive opinions and suggestions for the development of the school.

It is reported that with the care and support of the school party committee, the Nanjing University China Democratic National Construction Association Member’s Home was commended by the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association as the only “Excellent China Democratic National Construction Association Member’s Home” selected among the province’s universities, and Nanjing University China Democratic National Construction Association member Chen Caihua was awarded the title of Advanced Individual in Political Participation and Consultation in 2024 by the Central Committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association.
