Month-long free health camp on Cervical Cancer Prevention concludes at AKTC


Aligarh : A month-long free health camp on Cervical Cancer organized by the Department of Niswan wa Qabalat (Obstetrics and Gynecology), Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University concluded with more than 130 women receiving consultation for gynecological conditions, including as vaginal secretion, irregular bleeding, and postmenopausal bleeding.
The patients requiring further evaluation were advised admission for colposcopy and follow-up care.
The camp, held at the OPD premises, saw an overwhelming response, benefiting numerous female patients through consultations and healthcare services, and free Unani medicines, along with multivitamins, calcium, iron supplements, and protein powder, were distributed among patients.
The camp was inaugurated by Prof. Seema Hakim, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, JN Medical College. Prof. Ubaidullah Khan, Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine; Prof. Badarudduja Khan, Principal, AK Tibbiya College; Dr. Abiha Ahmad Khan and Dr. Fahmeeda Zeenat and other faculty members were present on the occasion.
Prof. Suboohi Mustafa, Chairperson, Department of Niswan wa Qabalat said that the initiative aimed at raising awareness about cervical cancer, its prevention, and stressed the importance of early detection.
She said that the significance of regular screenings, including Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA), Visual Inspection with Lugol’s Iodine (VILI), and Pap smear tests, was emphasized for early detection of cervical abnormalities. She also emphasized the role of public health initiatives in encouraging timely medical intervention.
Dr. Abiha Ahmad Khan coordinated the camp with the support of Junior Residents and Interns.
