MIETY has Launched the National Programme on Artificial Intelligence: UGC Demands for Wider Dissemination
With the launch of the National Programme on Artificial Intelligence (NPAI), UGC has written a letter to the Higher Education Institutions for the wider dissemination of the same. To achieve the vision of ‘India AI’ the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MIETY) has taken the concept of NPAI into consideration.
This National Program on Artificial Intelligence will emphasize the four broad pillars of the AI ecosystems i.e. Skilling in AI, Responsible AI, Data Management offices, and Setting up the National Center in AI.
What is the Importance of NPAI?
National Program on Artificial Intelligence is just another part of MIETY’s vision of ‘India AI’. There are several steps taken till now to make an IT Revolution in India. NPAI would create a plan for skill development for AI in India. This would upscale the AI-based skill courses as well as impact the users be it a student or a teacher. It would also help an individual to recognize potential threats and suspicions related to cybercrimes as well.
Even though it is true that AI disrupts job opportunities and increases unemployment, it is also undeniable that adapting to changes is a natural way. In this digital era embracing these skills is the best we can do. Knowing about AI tools, developing a strong workforce, and ensuring employment opportunities are a few of the basics while using Artificial Intelligence.
The vision of India AI
The AI revolution is one of the main visions of developed India. But moving further India surely needs to gear up its IT resources. The Vision set for India AI is mentioned as follows:
