There are six vacancies available for the position of Assistant Professor & Associate Professor at the Madras Institute of Development Studies.

Madras Institute of Development Studies Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The educational qualifications required for MIDS recruitment are detailed below.

(1) Assistant Professor

Educational Qualification:

• Must have a doctorate degree in social sciences or any other subject relevant to the work of MIDS and demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research.
• Preference will be given to candidates specializing in Economics, History, Development Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, or Political Science.

(2) Associate Professor

Educational Qualification:

• A strong academic record with a doctoral degree in Social Sciences or a related discipline relevant to MIDS, along with a minimum of five published papers in reputed national or international journals or edited volumes (or equivalent). The candidate should also have at least eight years of research or teaching experience in a university or national-level research institution in a regular position.
