Medical courses will be taught in Hindi
Uttarakhand Medical Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat has stated that medical courses in the state will be taught in both English and Hindi beginning with the next academic session. It should be emphasized that Uttarakhand would be the country’s second state to do so, following Madhya Pradesh.
The minister said “For this, the State Medical Education Department has constituted a four-member expert committee under the chairmanship of Dr. CMS Rawat, Principal of Government Medical College, Srinagar in Pauri district,”
According to the minister, the committee would create a draft of a new syllabus for Uttarakhand institutions after analyzing the Hindi MBBS syllabus applied in Madhya Pradesh government colleges. “After receiving the draft and fulfilling all other processes,” the minister stated, “the MBBS program in Hindi would begin at government medical institutes in the next session.”
He went on to say that the decision was made in light of the Centre’s specific emphasis on Hindi.
On October 16, Union Home Minister Amit Shah published textbooks in Hindi for three topics for MBBS students as part of the Madhya Pradesh government’s ambitious endeavor to provide medical education in Hindi.
