Katihar Medical College: Bihar student gets EVICTED for protesting against NExT exam.
According to the latest report, Katihar Medical College of Bihar evicted students for protesting against the NExT exam. Others in the batch, however, would not be permitted to attend academic or clinical classes for a minimum period of 15 days.
For a duration of 30 days starting on July 11, the students who gave the news conference against the NExT were suspended from participating in any academic or clinical classes or activities.
“Further to this office notice no. KMC/Disc/1060/23 dated 08-07-2023, the students have submitted their reply,” the official notice from Katihar Medical College said. When the replies are examined, it becomes clear that everyone copied one another’s responses rather than using their own language. The response was deemed inadequate.
The notice further added, “Your group hustle and bustle, parade, screaming of slogans, and media briefing without authorization have all been taken seriously and are being considered significant misconduct. Such a careless act is in no way expected of a medical student who hopes to become a doctor and help people in the future. It is entirely appropriate to impose severe penalties in this case. The following punishment is now awarded with effect from 11.07.2023.”
The NExT exam will carry out an array of functions under the National Medical Commission Act, including final-year MBBS exams, licence exams for practising modern medicine, merit-based admission tests for postgraduate programmes and screening exams for foreign medical graduates wishing to work in India. The 2019 NExT exam will be administered in two phases the following year: NExT Step 1 in May and NExT Step 2 in November.
