For the academic year 2023–2024, the Graduate Aptitude Test–Biotechnology (GAT–B) score at the Department of Biotechnology, Jamia Milia Islamia, invited applications for admission to the M.Sc. in Biotechnology supported by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, GoI.
Candidates who meet the requirements may apply online at www.jmi ac.in, the website for the JMI exams. The deadline for submitting an application is October 9, 2023, and the online application process began on September 29, 2023. There are ten chairs in total.
JMI will host a national conference from October 18 to October 19.
A national conference on India, Central Asia, and the Arab World: History, Politics, and Society will be held at the institution from October 18 to October 19, 2023.
M.Sc. in Biotechnology from JMI: Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must hold a B. Pharma., B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons. ), B.Sc. (Biotechnology), B.Sc. (Biotechnology (Voc. ), B.Sc. (Voc) in Biological Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, or in any other field of Modern Biology, with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 50%.
JMI Application Process for the M.Sc. in Biotechnology
The steps for applying to the JMI M.Sc. in Biotechnology are as follows:
Candidates who have the required GAT-B scores must apply online at https://jmicoe.in/.
The list of candidates will be available on the website of the JMI, the exams controller (https://jmicoe.in/), in order of merit.
Students will get confirmation of their admission following a successful review of all original documentation, including their GAT-B results, diplomas, mark sheets, etc.
Jamia Millia Islamia: Reservation Criteria
Jamia accepts bookings for every course across a range of categories. Below are the reservation requirements broken down by category.

Important Points to Consider
- Candidates who fall under OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) must produce a relevant certificate issued by the appropriate body.
- The Muslim Minority category will take up any open seats from the categories of Women Applicants and OBC-NCL applicants.
- Individuals who have passed their JMI qualifying exams are considered internal Jamia Candidates. People who obtained their degrees privately or remotely will not be eligible for relaxation.
- There are no places available in the BDS programme for applicants from J&K or Kashmiri migrants.
- There are no places available for international applicants in the B.Arch programme.
- The qualifying examination will be relaxed by 5% and 2% in the aggregate for NCC Cadets and NSS Volunteers, respectively.
