Are You Ready? JEE Main 2025 Dates and Syllabus Changes Revealed!

Students appearing for JEE Main 2025 are advised to pay special attention, as the National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued the provisional dates of the exam along with a new proposed syllabus structure and changes in the examination pattern.

This year, JEE Main will undergo the following changes:
- Final syllabus reductions according to CBSE’s latest curriculum
- Adjustments to the marking scheme and types of questions asked
- More conceptual and application based questions will be introduced.

JEE Main 2025 Dates Out
In order to give students the opportunity to better their scores, JEE Main will now be conducted in two sessions.
- Session 1- January2025
- Session 2- April 2025
Why Two Sessions?
Students will now be able to reattempt the exam if they are unsatisfied with their first attempt in January.
The best score from the two attempts will be considered for JEE Advanced and admissions into colleges.
Changes Introduced in JEE Main 2025 Syllabus
In accordance with CBSE’s new reduced syllabus for 11th and 12th grade, the syllabus will also be altered.
Key Changes to the Syllabus:
- Certain topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics will be omitted.
- There will be an increase in case-based, real world application questions.
- Greater focus will be placed on analytical questions and reasoning based questions.
Further Notice, the official updated syllabus will be released shortly. Students should avoid learning by heart and concentrate on understanding the concepts.
- New Examination Format & Schemes of Marking
Paper 1 (B.Tech/B.E.):
Types Questions: 90; Students are supposed to answer 75
Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Questions Format & Type:
60 – MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions)
30 – Subjective Problems (5 per subject per student)
Paper 2 (for B. Arch & B. Planning):
Includes Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Drawing/ Planning questions.
Changes on the Scheme of Marks
Negative Marking for all MCQ questions & Numerical Questions
As compared to the previous years, numerical type questions will also have negative marking.
Multi Correct MCQ’s might have some marks given for a wrong answer.
