Indian and Australian Education Ministers join hands to enhance research partnerships

In an important event held at Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) an educational collaboration took place. IITGN and Deakin University, Australia signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) for partnership. It is to boost research and academic partnership.

The collaboration will promote the exchange of teachers, students, staffs, and knowledge and learning. The MoU was signed by Professor Rajat Moona, the Director of IIGN and Professor Iain Martin, the VC of Deakin University.

The event took place in the presence of education ministers of both the Nations. Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, education minister of India and Jason Clare, education minister of Australia were present at the event. The event was a part of India Australia Bilateral meeting. It was the first educational event between India- Australia education council meetings at IITGN.

Venue of the Meeting

The event took place at GIFT city (Gujarat International Finance Tech- City).

Professor Iain Martin addresses by saying that Deakin University takes efforts to expand educational parameters with Indian Academic system and government. He told that by doing a collaboration the academic needs of both the universities will fulfil. It will help in boosting research and training. He told that it is an optimistic partnership that will take the educational system to a new height.

Union Educational Minister of India, Dharmendra Pradhan called this partnership as the internationalization of education. He said this kind of collaboration is very essential for growth and development of our Nation. It will help is advancing India’s academic system.

He also told, internationalization gives chance to Indian students to explore more international opportunities. It gives more prospects to the students. Australian Education minister says that by such alignments, both the countries will be capable of handling challenges in a better way.

Mr. Pradhan also added that opening of foreign university campuses in India is a part of NEP 2020.

The Director of IITGN, Professor Rajat Moona also appreciates the collaboration. He said it will enhance global cooperation in educational terms. It will open more doors of opportunities for research and learning.

Conclusion

The collaboration will boost the educational and research aspects of both the nations. The student and teachers mobility will promote cultural exchange between the two countries. There is more scope to explore and joining hands with educational institutes will give more chances to this.
