IIT Madras will launch a new online certificate programme for engineers

For practising engineers, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) offers an online certificate programme in additive manufacturing technologies.
The Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE), which the university has established, will provide the new certificate programme.
Candidates are eligible to apply if they have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, applied sciences, or basic sciences and have at least three years of professional experience.
The online certificate programme has a September 20 registration deadline.
- Learning objectives for a certificate curriculum in additive manufacturing technologies for practising engineers
- Know the principles of additive manufacturing methods, materials, design, and post-processing techniques.
- Learn the general AM Technologies process chain through practical instruction.
- Become capable in applying disruptive AM technologies across a range of engineering sectors.
- Examine and understand how AM technologies have impacted product creation.
- Learn how to test, qualify, and standardise materials and components used in additive manufacturing.
Practising engineers, as per the institute statement, can learn about the fundamental principles that govern additive manufacturing methodologies and how the developed knowledge is applied in service to improve the commercial applicability of available additive manufacturing technologies.
